Sun SPARCstation "Lunchbox" systems and BlueSCSI

 


I recently purchased a Sun SPARCstation LX system, this arrived as an 'untested' unit. I was happy to find that the unit did in fact power on and was making the right sounds, albeit I had no way of viewing the screen due to the unit having a 13W3, also the keyboard I got with the system had no cable. The only thing I could do at this point was to connect up a PC to it via the serial port and try to get a terminal, this showed me the system was operational, it enthused me to jump right in to the refurb.

I have been unable to install an OS to a BlueSCSI hdd image, but what I have been able to do is to install to a mechanical SCSI drive, backup a clone image and then boot it from BlueSCSI. I will be sharing various hdd iamges (check back here for updates) for you to use on your own system, here's the links:
